I purchased this item under the impression that it was a hat that a person could wear on their head. I was quite wrong. It is a puppet, not a hat. It is probably a neat puppet, might be fun to play with, if a puppet is what you are after that is. However, if you are after a hat, find a version of this that specifically claims to be a hat in the product description. Unfortunately the manufacturer of this product did not include this information in the product description when I ordered it. The return of the item was very simple. Amazon has a wonderful customer support team and a simple return policy. I would recommend Amazon to anyone. I would recommend this hat only as a toy.

The product description was misleading. This sorting "hat" is covered completely on the bottom of the hat, with a slit in the middle for your hand, to move the hat's "mouth". Essentially, its a giant sorting hat puppet. I wanted a HP sorting hat that you could actually wear on your head without having someone holding it.

Had a Harry Potter party and it was a major hit! We placed the names of the dormitories in the hat and each person picked. It was so much fun - unfortunately no one picked Hufflepuff so that dorm is currently empty!

My sister likes the hat, but it doesn't fit her head. She was hoping it would at least be big enough to fit her head or small enough to fit another collectable. Still, it looks better than other comparable items and is better quality than we hoped for.
