My 9-year old daughter loves Webkinz toys! They each come with a code that can be used on the popular Webkinz interactive site. We're a military family overseas; however, the 3rd party distributers were fast and efficient. We received the product in about a week (that's faster than usual for here).

It's not just a stuffed animal. When you buy a Webkinz animal you have access the webkinz website to educational and fun games. My son loves to go on the website and take care of his pet. Kids earn webkinz money to take care of their pet by playing educational games to rack up points and money. The site includes an employment office where you can get a job, but before you do you must have completed a certain number of educational activities from science, language, math, social studies. It's a great way to not only reinforce academic skills but also social skills and responsibility by taking care of your pet, getting a job, volunteering for service. It's also interactive so kids can chat with their classmates that are also on webkinz.

Personally I wish they had these things when I was younger. I LOVE horses and I thought that this would be an awesome gift for my niece. (she seemed to love it!) Not only because its a horse but because you're able to get online and do different things with it. I can't really say much about the online experience as I've never done it but I'm sure its pretty cool.
The only thing I have to say that doesn't really have anything to do with this toy is the fact that Amazon jacks up their prices A LOT. I paid $14.99 or so for this guy and its now showing up as $9 for this other company. Not to mention the fact that if your a Costco member you can get two of these guys for about $14 or so!

I bought this for my 9 year old. I did not know where you could buy them.. Surprise surprise you can buy them at Target.. Now I will Know for next time. She had a heart attack when she saw it at X-mas and had to register it immediately.

I'm not too familiar with these so I have to only tell what I know. This was a gift to a friend's daughter who explained to me how they work. You get the animal, it is a cute stuffed animal, they enter this code in the computer and like every other stuffed animal it ends up on the bed or shelf and then they play and learn a lot of things on this "Webkinz" site that is educational.
