Bad, Bad dealNov 15, 2011
By Bruce Higginbotham I hope that I never fall into the trap of paying for another Star Wars toy or action figure again. Please look at the price of this item. Realize that the item is 1 and 3/4 inches tall. I am looking at it as I write this, and I feel like a chump. This has happened before ....... may it never happen again.
Ultimate Yoda!Jan 29, 2011
By Enjolras This is easily the best Yoda figure out there. In my opinion, it even beats the Vintage 2011 Series 01 - Yoda. It really does look like Yoda from ESB. He's got a slight humpback, a wizened face, and subtle white hair. The bottom half of his inner robe is cloth, so you can lift it up to see his legs. The snake really brings back memories of the original figure from the 1980s. My only complaint is that the jacket is a bit too big, often covering his hands entirely. If you want a Yoda, this is definitely your best bet.
WonderfulNov 30, 2010
By Sunny Just don't pay the 30$+ price that sellers are asking for. That's crazy... this figure isn't THAT rare. I wouldn't pay more than 20$ for this. Thankfully someone here put it up for a reasonable price, and I got it!
Anyway, I love this Yoda! Without a doubt, this is the definite Original Trilogy Yoda. He comes with a cloth robe (his "skirt" is also cloth), a cane, and a snake. I'm guessing the snake was for nostalgia purposes. It would've been nice if it was the original orange color the vintage one had, that could go on his shoulders. Oh well... This figure is pretty articulated for a Yoda.
Very recommended for Star Wars fans and collectors! Great Yoda figure!
Not the Yoda I expectedNov 03, 2010
By Dean Noble I got schwindled when I got this. I thought it was the original Kenner's 1980 casting of Yoda with the orange snake, the gimer stick and a benign Oriental face. There were three castings of the Yoda action figure. The original 1980 Kenner's casting. Kenner's got bought out by Hasbro. There was a 1993 Yoda casting and there was a 2010 Empire Strikes Back Vintage Line casting and it is the latter that is being sold.
If you are looking for the original Kenner's Yoda that you held in your hand in 1981, then look to ebay. This is not that one.
That being said, this is still a high quality toy. For kids born in the last couple of decades, they would not know the difference and clearly would not have any 1980 based memories of holding any Yoda action figures of the past. This Yoda would be the one to form and gel those nostalgic memories that could last a lifetime.
This Yoda has a casting that suggests a school of toy carving that is consistent with the high end Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings carvings found at upscale toy stores like The Games People in Gastown, Vancouver, Canada. The new generation certainly does the STAR WARS action figure legacy justice and more.
A trip down memory laneMay 13, 2005
By Disgusted My favorite movie character of all time remade in all of his late 1970s action figure glory. The packaging is a blast from the past and the figure just looks great.
