5Dominoes with Letters.Dec 05, 2009
By S. Gardner
Appletters is a fun letter game with a different challenge. We've been playing Bananagrams for a few months and wanted something new. Appletters is different in that you can only connect to the first or last letter of the words made. The little zipper pouch seems durable enough and the tiles are extremely durable (double the thickness of Bananagram tiles). I recommend keeping the tiles from this game in a resealable bag, then place in apple pouch. Bananagram tiles don't fall out of the banana pouch as easily as these Appletter tiles do from the apple pouch. This does not detract from the game, just an observation.

5LOVE THIS GAME!!!Feb 10, 2010
By Elizabeth C. Inman "Beth"
We have been playing Bananagrams since purchasing it July 2009 and love it so much that we couldn't wait to get this game made by the people. It is so much fun, especially if you love spelling games. More fun than Scrabble and easier. Anyone can play, young and old. Very portable and durable! Appleletters has provided hours of fun for our family this winter!! I suggest both games!!

3I'd recommend Bananagrams over ApplelettersMar 28, 2010
By Lorna D.
I'm a huge Bananagrams fan. Understandably the Bananagrams company was hoping to repeat their much deserved success with Appleletters, but it's not nearly as interesting or fun. As another reviewer mentioned, the apple is barely big enough to hold the letters without spilling when it's unzipped.

3OK game; not as fun as bananagrams and pairsJan 10, 2011
By E. Mead
Appletters involves creating a snake of words; players must build off the first or last letter of one of the words in play, and must use the letter as the first or last letter in the new word. The part that makes this game fun is that you can replace a word that someone has already put down if you have a word with more letters. Of the three (bananagrams, pairs in pears, appletters), appletters is the simplest and best for children. I am in my late twenties and found it a bit boring. Also, it takes a long time to play, so I recommend putting a time limit on each person's turn. Overall, it's an OK game, just a bit too simple for my tastes. I like bananagrams much better, but this is good if you are looking for an easier version.

3Cute, Got Great Potential, But It's Not Bananagrams!Nov 02, 2010
By Kelly Klepfer
Appleletters is very similar to Scrabble without the point values and without the board. The players take turns and build off each others words but in a snake pattern. Portabilitywise, Appleletters is great. I love the cute little Apple carrying case. But for off the charts fun and games, I still would choose Bananagrams hands down. Appleletters is quicker than Scrabble, and easier because you have more tiles to choose from. Kids would benefit especially if they are needing fun help in the spelling department. But again, if I had to choose I'd pick Bananagrams.
